List of nine items (articles, web resource, or books or book chapters) to be annotated (3 each on Egypt, Greece, Rome). Due February 7. 10 points. Late penalty: 5 points.
Annotation of nine items (1 pp. max. length each annotation). Due March 21. 90 points. Late penalty: 5 points. Annotation = a critical review that includes: identifying the thesis statement or major points argued/presented; identifying the primary sources the author(s) used; and, to the extent possible, commenting on the quality of the research and identifying anything the author(s) should have included, used, etc., but did not.

Graduate students
Graduate students must complete the above assignments with the exception of the Essay Album. In lieu of the Essay Album, graduate students must write a major research paper using primary (ancient) sources (written, artefact, etc.) as well as secondary sources. Topic due February 16.
